     OPTION EXPLICT [ON]
     OPTION EXPLICT OFF

==== PURPOSE ====


When ''OPTION EXPLICT'' or ''OPTION EXPLICIT ON'' appears in a source file,
the programmer must explicitly declare all variables by using the ''VAR'' or
''DIM'' statements. 

If the programmer tries to use an undeclared variable 
name, an error occurs at compile time. The ''OPTION EXPLICT OFF'' statement 
allows implicit declaration of variables. If used, the ''OPTION EXPLICT'' 
statement can appear everywhere in a source file, before any other source 
code statements to check.

Setting ''OPTION EXPLICT OFF'' is generally not a good practice. The programmer
could misspell a variable name in one or more locations, which would cause 
unexpected results when the program is run.
